Electric Car From 1898

It turns out that electric cars were invented more than 110 years ago. One of the first such vehicles is developed by Ferdinand Porsche as far back as 1898.

The design of the car resembles a caret and is quite different from modern cars manufactured by Porsche. The Egger-Lohner C2 had electric motor with 3 HP and a lead-acid battery which provided a maximum mileage of up to 50 miles (about 80 kilometers).

With the weight of the battery from 500,3 kg. and a total weight of 1359,4 kg, the car was able to reach a maximum speed of 15.5 miles per hour (about 25 km/h).
