Made In Germany - Electric Cars

June 30, 2014, in Cars
According to analysts Frost & Sullivan, the number of electric cars sold in the world in four years will grow 15 times from the current 180 000 to 2.7 million cars.

1. First electric car from Ingolstadt concern will be Audi R8 e-tron, which sales will begin in Europe next year.

It's hard to believe, but accelerate to 100km/h of Audi R8 e-tron is capable of 4.2 seconds, and two electric motors mounted on the rear axle, have a capacity of 380 hp.
However, the maximum speed of R8 e-tron theoretically is 250 km/h. Restrictions related to the fact that at high speeds the power consumption is too large.
Inside the Audi R8 e-tron looks traditionally: despite the use of revolutionary new technologies, no futuristic design.
Weak spot of electric - short range with one battery charge. Here at Audi R8 e-tron's all good. Results worse than Tesla (500 km), but could not call them bad: Audi R8 e-tron can travel up to 450 km on one battery charge.

2. BMW i3 Electric Car

BMW i3 electric car on a background of Audi R8 e-tron is not so impressive. 100km/h for 7.2 sec., the maximum speed - 150 km/h.
Unlike the Audi R8 e-tron, BMW i3 is positioned as a city hatchback.
BMW i3 is already sold in Europe and stands there 35 000 euros.

3. Mercedes-Benz B-class Electric Drive

Similar are characteristics at Mercedes-Benz B-class Electric Drive, which began sold in the U.S. for $42 375.
Mercedes-Benz B-class Electric Drive has 174 horsepower and torque - 340 Nm. Accelerated to 100 km/h of Mercedes-Benz B-class Electric Drive is 7.9 seconds. The battery lasts for about 200 km.
Will there be a Mercedes-Benz B-class Electric Drive in other countries is still unknown.
