April 24, 2014, in World and Nature
Xico volcano, with locals have firmly called simply 'Xico Hill' is located in the southern part of one of the largest cities in the world - Mexico City. For a long time this area was located on the bottom of Lake Chalco, which began to dry up rapidly around the middle of the 14th century. That's when the Aztecs dealing in this area mainly fishing, had to move all of their homes on the coastline. Unemployed fishermen received allotments of land and began to develop agriculture and crafts.
