All geographic, topographic and underwater archaeological evidence strongly suggest that this are fragments from flagship 'Santa Maria', - said the head of the group, the American explorer Barry Clifford.

These conclusions came after a group of the expedition in the area of the Caribbean, as well as studying more than 400 marine anomalies and the Columbus diary itself. Scientists have also compared the description of the appearance of the ship, in particular, guns on board with photos.

Now, American scientists are preparing archaeological excavations together with experts to Haiti. According to archaeologists, the excavations will provide the first archaeological evidence of the discovery of America.

'Santa Maria' - the flagship single-deck three-masted ship on which Christopher Columbus in 1492 discovered America. The vessel is from 21 to 25 meters and it can accommodate up to 40 people. Ship was wrecked off the coast of Haiti in Christmas, December 25, 1492, when struck a reef.
